Hello 2012!

We’d like to thank everyone who attended the first quasi annual Hollywood Meets Silicon Valley event at Room 86 in Los Angeles!  In the last few months since the event, things have been hectic and productive to say the least! The event was a great success and produced a huge turnout. We hope with your support this event will continue to grow into a communication hub between two emerging industries. In the coming months we hope to provide you with further details on our coming events, promotions and sponsors for Hollywood Meets Silicon Valley.

Leo DiCaprio latest celebrity to invest in technology startups

Leonardo DiCaprio is the latest celebrity to invest in technology startups along side Ashton Kutcher, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. DiCaprio is leading a $4 million round in photo sharing app and Israeli startup Mobli. A tip from Twitter suggests that the connection was made through DiCaprio’s ex-girlfriend Bar Refaeli who was born and raised in Israeli.

Mobli is just like other mobile photo sharing sites like Instagram, Hipster and Moby where you can share your photos, but Mobli’s filters are a stroke of genius for brands as you can add a filter based on location.
